A New Year and More Great Beer
Good morning. Happy New Year’s Eve! If we were high tech like Spotify, we would release your Brewgr wrapped to show you all the great beers you brewed this year… but we’re not. Maybe next year - we will add it to our New Year’s resolution list.

A Look Back: Top 3 Homebrewing Recipes of 2023
A lot of homebrewers get into brewing because they want to replicate the best beers that you can buy in the grocery store or at your local brewery. This is only natural - especially when most people tasting your beers are comparing them to beers that they know.
You’ll catch this theme with the most searched for homebrewing recipes of 2023 on Brewgr - they are all clones.
Even though Brewgr is a community of homebrewers who are mostly focused on brewing unique craft beers, it comes as no surprise the the most searched for recipe was Budweiser. One of the most iconic beers in the world, Budweiser is actually fairly difficult to make for the average brewer.
To make this recipe, you’ll need to have the equipment to lager a beer. If you’re equipped to do it, this recipe has a nice breakdown of the steps involved to successfully lager.
This is a recipe that I would like to make one day. If I am at the beach, park or just drinking more than a few beers, this is an easy drinker that is lower alcohol content but still has a solid flavor.
This recipe is not simple, it requires a lot of different malts and hops. However, it’s definitely doable and would likely create a very crushable IPA.
This IPA clone is dominated by 2 row with a fairly simple hop profile. If you’re looking for an approachable clone for a newer all grain brewer, this is the one that I would choose. Also, if you’ve never had a Voodoo Ranger IPA, I’d highly recommend it - a great beer from New Belgium Brewing.

🍺 The fear of an empty beer glass while drinking is called Cenosillacaphobia. I think it’s fair to diagnose all of us homebrewers with a mild case of this phobia…
